The tenth generation Civic, known as the FK, was officially launched on 30th 2015 at the Paris Motor Show in a variety of trims, offering the usual improvements to driveability, styling, safety and technology. The EX Sportline filled the spot of providing a sportier driving experience and aesthetic within the Civic range without being a full performance model, like the bonkers FK8 Type-R, targeting buyers seeking a balance between everyday usability and a more aggressive look with sporty styling elements, improved handling, and Honda’s renowned VTEC efficiency.
Externally, key features of the EX Sportline include a more aggressive front bumper, a subtle rear spoiler and a rear diffuser for a more dynamic look. Additionally, it is fitted with 18" black alloy wheels, along with LED headlights and C-shaped LED taillights. Sportline badging further distinguishes this model, complemented by black exterior details. The interior features sport seats with extra bolstering, aluminium pedals, and red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and gearstick. From a tech standpoint, the Civic EX Sport Line comes equipped with a 7" Honda CONNECT touchscreen system, supporting Apple CarPlay/Android Auto with SatNav as standard.
Additionally, the trim benefits from advanced driver assistance systems such as lane assist, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking for added safety. From a performance perspective, while the EX Sportline certainly looks the part, it features the regular 1-litre VTEC Turbocharged engine, delivering around 126bhp, prioritizing fuel efficiency and daily usability over extreme performance.
