Presented is this incredible 2000 Honda Accord that has competed in the British Touring Car Championship. It is an ex-Barwell Motorsport Team Kaliber car, as far as can be ascertained is the James Kaye 2001 season contender. The car finished second overall in the production car championship that same year after scoring double points for most of its season. In 2002, the car then changed hands to Beacon Motorsport. It was driven by Spencer Marsh and finished third overall that season (yet again running to the head of the field in its class). The car is then believed to have been taken over by Team Varta in 2003 as a second car whilst their other was being built. Between 2004-2008 there is little history with the car.
The current owner purchased the car in 2008 and had the car re-commissioned for use as an occasional track day car. The specification of the vehicle is incredible and is believed to be one of four that cost approximately £350,000 each to build. The car has been very well looked after by its current owner who has had the engine rebuilt by Geoff Steel Racing in 2020. The body was also refurbished and repainted, and the car has not been used since. There is a long list of spare parts included for collection at the buyers expensive. The car does require starting by an engineer and will need to be warm prior to use. This is an incredible opportunity to acquire a piece of BTCC history.
