The second owner purchased this limited-production, high-performance Saleen Mustang, production number 0001, directly from Steve Saleen in September, 1990. It was owned by Saleen, used as a press car and it was the 1998, 1989 and 1990 Saleen poster car. It was also featured in print as the Motor Tend magazine test car for February, 1988 and it served as the prototype Active Suspension test car in 1989. All of the suspension components were new, stock design and the tires were new as well when it was purchased in 1990. Current mileage is at approximately 42,300 and it is complete with 1989 graphics and books.

Also included is a verification letter from Team Saleen documenting the history of the vehicle to include manufacture month, ship date, exterior color, interior color, gear ratio, engine and transmission along with verification of its original ownership by Saleen. This 1988 Saleen, production #0001 is one of 103 with these exact colors and options and is a remarkable piece of Saleen and Mustang high performance history.
