Since 1995, Factory Five Racing has been designing and engineering build-it-yourself kits for enthusiasts to build their own Cobra or Daytona Coupe replica. Expanding on that success, they made a Hot Rod, Custom Coupe and Hot Pickup, with the whole batch harkening back to a kind of golden era in automobile history. Embracing modern vehicles, Factory Five engineered the XTF Pre-Runner kit for the best-selling Ford F-150. The Factory Five XTF is largely centered around a unique, tubular and powder-coated pre-runner chassis that replaces Ford’s ladder frame and provides heavy-duty mounting points for the suspension and cab.
Factory Five also engineered a long-travel suspension and a body package to round out the concept. This silver 2020 Ford F-150 Factory Five XTF was professionally built by Bullet Motorsports and Coastal Classics of South Florida. Since the completion of the 400-hour build, it’s driven some 600 miles. The Whipple-supercharged 5.0L V-8 engine has been modified with an upgraded carbon-fiber intake system and long-tube headers bolted to a custom stainless-steel MagnaFlow exhaust system. The drivetrain is comprised of a 10-speed automatic transmission, high- and low-range shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive, a locking rear end and XTF-specific heavy-duty front axles.
The chassis features Fox Suspension coilovers, large Wilwood brakes and XTF-specific extended control arms and rear trailing arms. Rolling on Mickey Thompson Baja 37-inch tires with gold-tone Raceline wheels, the F-150 hosts a number of custom touches inside and out, including diamond-stitched leather seating surfaces, an Alpine stereo system with Apple CarPlay and vehicle monitoring, and a host of custom carbon fiber accents sprinkled throughout.
