The Ford Escort RS Turbo was based on the three-door Ford Escort saloon and was supplied in a Diamond White body colour only. The engine fitted to the RS Turbo was a 1600cc CVH unit modified to suit the higher loads and the application of a turbocharger. Computerised fuel injection and engine management incorporating turbocharger boost control were also fitted. Aesthetically, the RS Turbo was given a distinctive sporty appearance with a body-coloured front grille, bumpers and aerodynamic aids. On the tailgate, an XR3i spoiler (also body coloured) was fitted together with 'RS Turbo' decals.

The interior was trimmed in a combination of Monza and Cashmere fabrics and XR3i-type Recaro LS bucket seats were fitted as standard. Production was limited to only 5,000 examples with many being modified for racing. Originally registered on 13th January 1986 this delightful RS Turbo has been restored of which there is photographic evidence in the history folder. The car comes supplied with the original service books and a collection of invoices. The very knowledgeable and fastidious vendor has ensured the quality of this Ford has been maintained, having recently fitted a new turbo, new brakes and new front suspension.

We are advised also that a new clutch has been fitted and there is a slight amount of clutch judder when pulling away in 1st gear, this should improve with use. Supplied with a V5 document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 21st April 2024. Today, many examples of this extraordinary motor car have been modified to their detriment, however, this delightful RS Turbo is in great order and can be enjoyed immediately. Prices for classic Fords shows no sign of abating.
