The Fiat 500, Italy’s answer to Germany’s Beetle, was introduced in 1957. The 500 is considered by many to be one of the first “city cars,” and quickly gained popularity in urban settings. Through the 1960s, the model received styling changes and the addition of different body styles. The Fiat 500 is a classic design that has stood the test of time, becoming a collectable car and even inspiring Fiat to produce new “retro-styled” versions of the 500.

This 1964 Fiat 500D was originally produced and sold in Italy where it lived and was later restored. Following restoration it won several awards. In 2013 the car was purchased in Italy and imported to the United States by the current owner. It’s presented in a brilliant shade of red, which is reported to be the original color, and features a folding sunroof and unique “suicide doors.” The car rides on whitewall tires mounted on crème painted steel wheels with factory wheel covers. The 500D is powered by a 499-cc, 15-hp two-cylinder engine, which is reported to be not original to the car. The engine is paired to a four-speed manual transmission; and the interior is completed nicely in tan with a white steering wheel.
