The famed Fiat “Cinquecento” was initially introduced with a 479-cubic-centimetre, twin-cylinder air-cooled engine, but it underwent various technical modifications over the course of its 18-year production run. The earliest model, the 500 N, is considered by many enthusiasts to be the purest version of the design, particularly in the very early cars, with their vetri fissi, or fixed side windows. It is believed that only 25 vetri fissi cars survive in the world, as the vast majority of these “people’s cars” were driven into the ground by their original owners.
This car, which is still equipped with its original 479-cubic-centimetre engine, is offered from one of the most important collections of Fiat 500s in Europe. It has undergone a remarkable two-year restoration to the highest standards of originality and authenticity, completed in January of this year. It is finished in Blu Skai (Fiat 461) with blue fabric upholstery, and boasts a full dashboard, including a speedometer that goes up to 100 km/h. It is accompanied by its original iron registration plates and very rare original owner’s and service instructions, as well as a certificate of accreditation from the A.S.I.
