This 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello shows a mere 23,389 miles on the odometer and has undergone a recent major service completed in October of 2015 at cost of $11,000. The 550 Maranello was introduced in 1996 as the flagship model within the Ferrari stable and the replacement to the mid- engine Ferrari Testarossa. Like all Ferrari new model introductions, both the motoring press and the automotive enthusiast world were in deep anticipation of the new 550 Maranello—especially in light of the fact that it was a return to the traditional front engine design/rear drive architecture as seen in its legendary predecessor, the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona whose final year of manufacture was 1973.

Even though 23 years had transpired between the two models, the 550 Maranello immediately captivated the Ferrari world and was praised as the spiritual successor to the Ferrari Daytona. The common denominator between the 550 Maranello and the Daytona—besides the V-12 engine and front engine layout—was their visceral nature that combined exceptional power and performance with a “take no prisoners” personality. However, there were some major differences as well. Although the Daytona was great at high speed, it did not take kindly to low speed motoring with its heavy steering, heavy clutch and temperamental state of tune.

Conversely, the 550 Maranello is a joy to drive at low speed and it absolutely loves the upper limits of velocity with a top speed of 199 MPH. This is a triple personality car: it’s fast, it’s elegant and it has a bad-boy swagger. It’s no coincidence that a 550 Maranello appeared in a leading role in the movie Bad Boys II. This elegant Blue Tour De France over Sabbia interior Ferrari 550 Maranello comes with service history receipts, books, manuals and tool kit.
