The Ferrari 512 TR succeeded the Testarossa in 1991, and it carried its predecessor’s unmistakable supercar style into the ‘90s with improved factory performance until 1994. The radical Pininfarina-designed Testarossa with its dramatic side strakes and mid-mounted Flat-12 boxer engine had become the globally recognized definition of a supercar in the years following its debut at the 1984 Paris Salon. This 1994 512 TR is an evolution of the Testarossa formula with a sought-after factory-strengthened limited-slip differential and ABS brakes. This particular Ferrari was delivered new in the summer of 1995 for the Canadian market, and it was more recently imported into the U.S. in 2015.
The ‘90s refinement of the Testarossa carries a clean Carfax report and comes with documentation of all scheduled service performed in the 29,855 kilometers—or just 18,551 miles—logged since the supercar was purchased new. Maranello revised the 4.9L 12-cylinder boxer engine with a new Bosch integrated fuel-and-ignition management that worked with four camshafts, four valves per cylinder and dry-sump oiling to deliver a bump in performance to 428 HP and a resulting increase of top speed to 195 MPH.
The boxer engine underwent regular timing-belt and major services with a new clutch and Tubi sports exhaust installed in 2015 for positive engagements from the 5-speed gearbox and signature 12-cylinder Testarossa shriek. The smoothed 512 TR interior relegated any angular ’80s connections to history, but it retained the timeless Ferrari grand-touring instrumentation, Momo steering wheel and gated shifter. The Ferrari 512 TR comes with its primary and valet keysets, seat and steering-wheel covers, its service history, books, manuals and tool set.
