In 1963, Dodge’s answer to the rapidly increasing Detroit compact-car competition was the Dart. The new model had a wheelbase of 111 inches and there were three levels of trim offered, the 170, the 270 and the GT. The 170 was a basic model featuring rubber floor mats, while the 270 received carpeting, upholstery and trim. Meanwhile, the Dart GT sported bucket seats, a padded dashboard and wheel covers. The original Dart featured two engines for all three trim levels, either a 170 CI or 225 CI slant-6 engine. In 1964, the Mopar 273 CI V-8 engine was offered in both two-barrel 180 HP or four-barrel 235 HP versions. The Dart had a host of improvements as a model debuted in 1967.

According to the official Dodge Dart press release for that year, “Any resemblance between the 1967 Dodge Dart and its 1966 counterpart is purely unintentional—except that it's still the largest compact in America.” Dodge went on to claim that the economy car had turned into a sporty machine for the new model year, backing up that assertion by offering V-8 engines in six of its 12 body styles. It also offered 19 exterior colors and a new dual-master cylinder braking system. This Red 1967 Dodge Dart GT Convertible features a 273 CI V-8 engine, 4-speed manual transmission and power convertible top.

The Dart GT has its original Black interior, a Black convertible top, superb brightwork, rare factory air conditioning, factory tachometer, remote mirror, original gauges, original push-button AM radio, original wheel covers and correct Redline tires. With what is believed to be 58,434 original miles, this Dart GT offers a true taste of 1960s open-top motoring.
