Offered with a mere 49 miles on the odometer, this 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe is the 21st produced in the all-new C8 lineage, as denoted by its VIN. This milestone in Corvette history has answered generations of enthusiasts anticipating a midengined version of America’s Sports Car with truly astounding performance and value, the two signature qualities that have defined Corvette through the decades. Whereas the front-engine platform had reached the zenith of its potential in the C7, the new C8 has opened up a whole new frontier of Corvette performance, beginning with its potent 6.2L V-8 engine.
Designated LT2, the new powerplant generates 495 HP at 6,450 RPM and 470 lb-ft of torque at 5,150 through a new Tremec 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission specifically designed for the C8. The LT2 launches this 2020 Corvette to 60 MPH in a hair-raising 2.8 seconds, aided in its mission by the optional Z51 Performance Package.
Identified by unique Carbon Flash aerodynamic aids including a front splitter, high rear spoiler and rocker extensions, the track-purposed Z51 package includes upgraded disc brakes with bright red calipers, more aggressive suspension with Magnetic Ride Control, special dual-mode performance exhaust, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on 19- and 20-inch Trident five-spoke Sterling Silver painted wheels, an electronic limited-slip differential with a performance axle ratio, and heavy-duty cooling.
All these advanced performance features are presented in this 2020 C8 Stingray coupe, which features the body-color dual roof package and the bold pairing of Torch Red paint against a tan leather interior with carbon fiber trim and adjustable Competition Sport bucket seats. This early production example of the new midengine Corvette is accompanied by what might well become a crucial piece of documentation in the form of its unique early production window sticker, which shows only some of the car’s equipment and option details due to its early place in the 2020 production phase.
