In 2018, Hertz joined forces with Hendrick Motorsport - now the winningest team in NASCAR Cup Series history - to sponsor the #24 Hendrick Motorsports ZL1 Camaro race car, driven by NASCAR Cup Series driver William Byron, who recently became the youngest driver to have more than 10 consecutive Top 10 finishes, surpassing NASCAR great Jeff Gordon. The on-track partnership with Hendrick Motorsports continued and eventually evolved into the creation of a custom Camaro available for the street: The Hertz/Hendrick Motorsports edition Camaro, of which only 24 were commissioned. This ZL1 is #012; under the hood is the data plate confirming car production #012.
The stock supercharger has been upgraded to a Callaway Gen Three supercharger and Callaway triple-cooled intercooler system, providing 750hp. To make room for the new supercharger, a hand-built carbon-fiber hood insert was designed and manufactured by Hendrick Motorsports. For the exterior, a special appearance package features Hertz Yellow graphics with the HMS #24 logo, complemented by matching Hertz yellow-painted brake calipers. The stock wheels were replaced with custom-made Forgeline wheels engraved with the Hertz logo and #24 center caps.
Continuing the theme, there are Hertz Yellow door inserts, lighted door sills with the Hertz logo, William Byron's signature and the #24 logo, as well as custom #24 floor mats. The car is authenticated by the Chevrolet factory RPO code 'PEH' Hertz/Hendrick Motorsports Edition. Also included is the original certificate of authenticity from Calloway Cars. Has 6,600 actual miles.
