Introduced in September 1940, the 1941 Cadillacs all shared the same 346-cubic-inch V-8 engine. Following the elimination of the prior model year’s V-16, this single-engine platform would continue for the next 40 years. 1941 cars underwent a mild restyle of the front fascia that saw changes to the hood and front grille, while the engine bay sides now featured single elongated louver trim pieces, and the fenders were decorated with triple chrome spears. Six different trim levels were offered, of which the 126-inch-wheelbase Series 62 was available in six different body styles from Fisher.

According to a copy of an original Cadillac build record on file, this Series 62 Deluxe Coupe was equipped with the optional 3.77:1 final drive ratio, and it was dispatched for a retailer on 7 January 1941. Though the car’s interim history is currently unknown, by the mid-2010s it had been treated to a nice restoration that provided for a complete renewal of all cosmetic and mechanical systems. The exterior was refinished in a lovely shade of maroon while the interior was retrimmed in gray broadcloth. The wood interior trim was refinished as needed, and the wheels were mounted with period-correct whitewall tires. The restoration has since been dutifully maintained, though the paint, chrome, and undercarriage have developed a degree of patina.

The handsome Series 62 features several desirable factory options, including fender skirts, a radio, heater, and a full-size color-matched spare wheel in the trunk.
