One of just 632 Roadmaster Estate Wagons built in 1949, this is a serious automobile. It was restored at Hibernia. Of particular note is the body wood, originally supplied and built by Mitchell Corporation 'Michigan's Station Wagon King', which is original throughout; the mark of an original automobile that has received exceptional care throughout its existence. The wood's beauty complements the dark burgundy finish with burgundy leather upholstery. The woodwork, so important to the character of station wagons, is original and while it has a few blemishes, it is outstanding inside and out. Even the load area floor is spectacularly finished, as are the wood battens under the composite roof.
The removable load area carpet illustrates the level of care given to this fine car. The stately Buick is powered by the Fireball 320.2cid, 150-hp inline 8 cylinder engine and is equipped with the Dynaflow transmission that was standard on all Roadmasters. Along with radio and heater, the Estate Wagon has wide white wall tires and factory wheel covers. The chrome glistens, the paint glows and the instruments are sharp and crisp. The engine compartment is spotless and properly wired and labeled. Not surprisingly, it is an AACA National First Prize winner.
