The Competition Package adds a measure of high RPM boost to the twin-turbo 4.4L V-8 engine resulting in 575 HP and 500 lb-ft of torque available across a broader range of engine speed. Power is channeled through a paddle-shifted 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and retuned Active M Differential for precisely modulated delivery. Suspension, Dynamic damper control, M Dynamic Mode and steering response were remapped through countless testing laps around the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit. M carbon-ceramic brakes with signature gold-finish calipers lurk behind light-alloy 20-inch black wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires for maximum road and track control.
Sakhir Orange Metallic paint graces the aerodynamically optimized body, and the M5 was special ordered with Sakhir Orange leather dashboard, upper door panels, center console and M steering wheel with black stitching. The Executive Package adds soft-close automatic doors, heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, power tailgate, keyless entry, automatic climate control, power sunshades and heads-up display. Driver Assistance Plus incorporates convenience, infotainment and safety technologies from internet access to curated audio entertainment through the optional 1,200-watt Bang and Olufsen sound system.
