L'actuelle génération (la sixième) du luxueux haut de gamme série 7 de BMW a été lancée en 2015 en versions standard et longue, les modèles hybrides rechargeables 740e et 740Le iPerformance enrichissant la gamme en 2016, les deux équipées de la transmission intégrale xDrive du constructeur allemand. La 740e/Le iPerformance est dotée d'un quatre cylindres essence 2 litres turbocompressé de 255 ch fonctionnant en conjonction avec un moteur électrique pour une puissance totale combinée de 322 ch. De multiples modes de fonctionnement sont proposés au conducteur via la fonction Auto eDrive de BMW.

fut très impressionné par la 740Le xDrive iPerformance : « Elle marche comme les autres modèles de la série 7... C'est un régal lorsqu'on adopte le mode Sport – la poussée du moteur électrique au démarrage semble inépuisable et il y a encore d'avantage de puissance disponible lorsque le moteur 2 litres TwinPower à essence entre en jeu ».
Cette 740Le xDrive iPerformance a été commandée en Belgique par son actuel propriétaire, qui a spécifié le pack M-sport pour le meilleur du confort, ainsi qu'un toit ouvrant. Le prix de la voiture telle qu'elle a été livrée était de 110 000 €, incluant presque 20 000 € d'options. British Racing green avec intérieur en cuir noir, cette voiture a parcouru 110 000 kilomètres d'origine. La documentation qui l'accompagne comprend la facture d'achat et les papiers d'immatriculation slovaque. The current (sixth) generation of BMW's luxurious range-topping 7 Series was launched in 2015 in standard and long-wheelbase versions, with 740e and 740Le iPerformance plug-in hybrid models joining the range in 2016, both of which featured the German manufacturer's xDrive all-wheel transmission. The 740e/Le iPerformance is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder 255bhp petrol engine operating in conjunction with an electric motor for a combined maximum output of 322bhp. Multiple operating modes are available to the driver via BMW's Auto eDrive function.
magazine was duly impressed by their 740Le xDrive iPerformance: "It drives just like the rest of the 7-series range... so it's surprisingly fun when you stick it in Sport mode - the surge of electric power from a standstill is unlikely to get old and there's more get-up-and-go on offer when the 2.0-litre TwinPower petrol engine chimes in."
This 740Le xDrive iPerformance was ordered new in Belgium by the current owner, who specified the M-sport package for the ultimate in comfort, including a sunroof. The car's price as delivered was €110,000, which included options costing almost €20,000. Finished in British Racing green with black leather interior, this car has covered 110,000 kilometres from new. Accompanying documentation consists of the purchase invoice and Slovakian registration papers. Being a plug-in hybrid, this car may attract favourable taxation rates in some countries.
