Bentley is a name synonymous with performance, luxury, and superlative motoring achievements. In 1991, the Continental R series marked a return of the Bentley legend to the roads. The Continental R Le Mans is a limited-production luxury performance notchback coupe coach-built with peerless craftsmanship that could only come from Bentley at Crewe. Just 46 of these specially constructed Continental R Le Mans models were built for the World market. Of the 16 sold into the United States market, only 10 remain in the country, with six of these desirable machines exported abroad for their new owners to enjoy.
This 2002 Bentley Continental R Le Mans displays less than 13,000 miles on the odometer set into the exclusive Racing Green-faced Le Mans speedometer. The 6.75-liter V-8 engine utilizes a Garrett AiResearch turbocharger and intercooler running nearly 12 PSI of boost for a resulting 420 horsepower at 4,000 RPM. The full complement of 645 lb-ft of torque arrives at just 2,200 RPM and the engine is backed by an adaptive 4-speed automatic transmission. The Le Mans-specific speedometer reflects the factory-rated top speed of 170 miles per hour, while 4-wheel vented antilock disc brakes with electronic traction-assist help the Continental put the R in road-holding.
The Silver Pearl Le Mans sports steel fender flares, wing vents, red-painted brake calipers and an exclusive quad exhaust system. The perforated Stratos Gray Connolly leather interior with optional seat piping is accented by dark-stained walnut throughout. A premium sound system with 6-CD changer provides in-cabin entertainment and drilled alloy control pedals add maximum control. The Le Mans rides on aftermarket 3-piece Satin-finish 19-inch alloy wheels equipped with ultra-high-performance compound 275/45R19 tires.
This outstanding example of Bentley performance and luxury comes with the original window sticker, a clean CarFax as well as a matched set of optional Bentley umbrellas that were included in the original MSRP of $335,973.
