The 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione represents one of the most stunning and exclusive supercars ever produced by the legendary Italian marque. Limited to just 500 units worldwide, this carbon fiber-bodied masterpiece was designed to evoke Alfa Romeo’s racing heritage while delivering contemporary performance. At its heart sits a 4.7L V-8 engine co-developed with Ferrari, producing 444 HP and 354 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 6-speed F1-style semi-automatic transmission, the 8C rockets from zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and hits a top speed of 181 MPH.
The mid-front engine layout and rear-mounted transmission create near-perfect 49/51 weight distribution, embodying the 8C with Alfa Romeo’s legendary handling characteristics. The exterior design, penned at Alfa Romeo’s Centro Stile by Chief Stylist Wolfgang Egger, is stunning, featuring flowing curves, the iconic Alfa grille and distinctive headlights that pay homage to its classic forebears. The cabin blends luxury with sportiness, featuring hand-stitched leather, carbon fiber accents and supportive bucket seats.
This 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione (S/N 40905) was ordered new by the Bachmans after Phil and Martha had the opportunity to visit the 8C production line in 2008 and were impressed by the cars, and today it presents with just 115 miles on its odometer. It is one of only 84 examples destined for the U.S. market, and of those, one of only 23 finished in Rosso Competizione with a Rosso braided leather interior and Rosso stitching.
The Bachmans ultimately ordered the 8C in its Rosso Competizione color upon the recommendation of their dealer, who called it “the quintessential color for this model.” Notable details include a leather headliner and console, carbon fiber dash panels, dual-zone climate control, the fire extinguisher and 10-spoke alloy wheels with Alfa Romeo center caps. Awarded the Diamond A Cup at the 2011 Keeneland Concours d’Elegance, this highly collectable Alfa Romeo is offered with its window sticker and its books and manuals.
