A faulty connection between the fuel lines could leave gasoline leaking near the engine. Could that create a fire hazard? Toyota says it may.
The recall covers 105,794 hybrid Land Cruisers from model years 2024 through 2027, though not all were sold in the United States. A retaining clip may lift, allowing the plastic tank-side tube to separate from the metal line that carries fuel to the turbocharged four-cylinder engine. A leak could waste fuel, stop the gas engine and raise the risk of fire.
Toyota has not identified what causes the clip issue, according to its NHTSA report. What should owners do? Dealers will inspect the lines and add a supplemental clamp, or replace the plastic tube and fit a clamp if needed. Owners will receive mailed notices by December 13, 2026; dealers have already been notified.
