Used Porsche 911 Prices Are Finally Cooling Off

Buying a 992-generation Porsche 911 on the used market may finally be becoming more realistic. According to data from iSeeCars, the average asking price for 1-to-5-year-old Porsche 911 models fell by $14,063 between June 2025 and June 2026, reducing the average listing price to $118,025. While the decline is significant, buyers should keep the bigger picture in mind.

The main reason these price drops appear so dramatic is that new Porsche 911 models have become considerably more expensive. When the 992-generation Carrera debuted in 2020, it carried a starting price of $98,750. Today, a new base Carrera starts at $137,850, and that's before adding options or delivery fees. With higher original sticker prices and heavily optioned examples, larger depreciation in dollar terms is almost inevitable.

Is this the beginning of a true buyer's market? Not necessarily. Market analysts note that studies often combine standard Carrera models with premium versions such as the GT3 and Turbo S, which naturally have much higher values and can influence overall averages.

Even after recording a 10.6% year-over-year decline in listing prices, the 992-generation Porsche 911 continues to outperform most luxury vehicles in terms of resale value. Unlike many premium sedans that can lose nearly half of their value within the first few years, the iconic sports car remains one of the strongest performers in the used market.

Should buyers take advantage of today's softer prices or wait for further reductions? And with new-car prices continuing to rise, could more enthusiasts decide that a lightly used 911 offers the best balance of value and performance? While prices are easing, the Porsche 911 still stands among the safest long-term investments in the sports car segment.
