CAVËN Atelier’s HOMMAGE 26 gives Fabrizio Giugiaro a second chance to shape the Lamborghini Gallardo. His original proposal, drawn at Italdesign in 1998, was developed by Lamborghini’s design team into the production car launched in 2003. What would he change today?
The front stays close to the early Gallardo - until concealed panels slide away to expose the headlights. That arrangement also lets Giugiaro link the lamps with the air intakes, as he had intended in 1998. At the rear, moving aero flaps sit above the taillights, while a louvered cover reveals the 5.0-liter V10. It spins to 8,500 rpm and pairs with a six-speed manual gearbox featuring a metal gate.
The conversion starts at roughly US$1 million (€900,000), before tax, and does not include the Gallardo itself. CAVËN can help source one. With just 25 planned, which other designer deserves another shot at an old creation?
