A bespoke Ferrari has just turned heads at auction, with the Ferrari Luce “Chassis 0” selling for an astonishing $40 million / €36.7 million at RM Sotheby’s Monterey sale. The one-off “Tailor Made” 2026 Ferrari Luce is a four-door EV, yet its buyer will have to wait until early 2027 for delivery.
The unique car wears Madreperla Semi-Gloss paint that shifts between green and violet depending on the light. Inside, Swiss leather in Perla Le Mans metallic replaces the usual black accents, while Grigio Corvara trim and custom white brake calipers add further personalization.
The $40 million result is even more notable because RM Sotheby’s waived its buyer’s premium, meaning the entire amount goes to The Ferrari Foundation to support educational programs.
The Luce may be silent compared with Ferrari’s traditional V-12s, but its 150-mph / 241-kph top speed and extraordinary price make it impossible to ignore. Does a $40 million auction result make the Luce a legitimate collectible Ferrari? Can a major charity sale help win over Ferrari purists skeptical of an electric model?
