I wasn't sure what to expect with the Eclipse Cross, but it's a fantastic all-rounder for Dubai! It's nimble enough to handle city traffic and merge confidently onto Sheikh Zayed Road. The hybrid engine is responsive, and the fuel economy is a huge plus with our petrol prices. The air conditioning, crucial here, cools the cabin down almost instantly.

It's very comfortable for daily commutes and even holds its own on a desert highway cruise. Maintenance and insurance costs are reasonable for a hybrid SUV here, which is a big relief.

Pros: Great fuel efficiency, agile size, good standard features, low running costs. Cons: Cargo space is a bit tight for a big family, interior isn't as luxurious as some rivals.
