The Karmann Ghia was a true exercise in automotive synergy, involving Volkswagen, Carrozzeria Ghia and coachbuilder Karmann. Dating from 1970, this remarkable example was imported from California prior to our vendor's 14 year ownership. Fully re-imagined by the well-respected DC Customs of Netherton with no expense spared and the clear mandate to be successful within the genre of stanced and slammed production cars. Successes include Best VW in Europe at VW Fest 2017, Best in Show at Ultimate Stance 2017, Top 25 at Ultimate Dubs in 2018, Show Winner Fitted Fest 2018. Not shown since.
Converted from left to right-hand drive, roof chopped by 2", earlier rear lights, fully restored and detailed with custom modifications. Finished in a paint-to-sample Olive Green with a full custom leather interior in Saddle Tan. Powered by a 2.1-litre flat-four with electronic ignition, twin Weber carburettors, lightened and balanced and big-valve heads. Built by Californian Classics and dyno-tested back in 2017 at 145.8bhp. Airkewld narrowed front torsion bar with air suspension, 5-stud disc brakes all round and 17" 'smoothie' wheels. A beautiful and successful show car on offer at a fraction of its build cost.
