Sharing the Volkswagen Group A5 platform, the Mk5 Golf debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in October 2003 and went on sale in Europe one month later. The GTi comes with Volkswagen’s four-cylinder 2.0 litre Turbo engine (FSI) which gives it 197bhp. Transmissions include a six-speed manual or six-speed DSG. The Mk. V is now regarded as probably the best incarnation of the legendary GTi after the original Mk. I of 1976-1983 and is fast acquiring modern classic status.
This superb very low mileage example was imported from Japan in 2023 and is presented in silver with a desirable GTi Tartan grey cloth interior. It comes specified with six speed DSG gearbox, climate control, Xenon headlights, cruise control, UK sound system, mph speedometer and usefully, is also ULEZ compliant. Supplied with a V5C registration document, mileage guarantee certificate as well an invoice for a service and MoT records. Recent servicing has been carried out by the vendor’s mechanic friend and is presented in excellent condition, offering an excellent opportunity to own what is widely regarded to be the best of the Golf GTis.
