But this was not true of the 'S', just as we have here, however - the 2.5L block and everything else was entirely Porsche! The re-worked platform carried an inline 2.5 Liter 4-Cylinder, effectively half of the 928's 5.0 V8. It was the ideal entry level Porsche, its straight line performance was good and with its rear transaxle gearbox had perfect weight distribution for outstanding handling, making it a real drivers car. THE MOTORCAR OFFERED
The idea of evolution rather than revolution, is a mantra that Porsche enthusiasts know all too well. When Porsche introduced their joint-venture 924 in '76, the machine received positive reviews from critics. This attractive 1988 example is the most updated and refined, given its 2.5L engine, making it the most desirable year 924 available. This year 924S was also slightly quicker than its 944 counterpart due to its lighter weight and more aerodynamic body. This 924 is finished in India Red over a Black interior with the very retro Porsche script design.
Very nicely equipped, this car was delivered new in US specifications and emission equipment, Blaupunkt "Reno" radio, air conditioning, power sunroof, power steering and more. This 924 is amongst one of the lowest mileage and original cars extant, covering a mere 19,389 miles at the time of cataloging. The car will be accompanied with receipts for both current and previous ownerships, Porsche issued certificate 'Porsche Production Specification" as well as factory brochures.
