As far as Christmas presents go, it’s hard to beat finding a brand new Porsche under the tree. And even though the 912 featured two fewer cylinders than its sibling 911, there’s no doubt that this car’s original owner was thrilled to find it parked in his driveway on Christmas morning.
Purchased on Christmas Eve in the Netherlands, this 912 was gifted from a wife to her husband in 1965. It was originally registered as 94-47-AE and driven and enjoyed as intended for over two decades. The second owner was a Mr Grooters from Hengelo who registered the car in his name on 30 September 1986. The car was serviced in March 1987 at 46,597 km and at that time was undercoated in an effort to prevent oxidation. Two years later, the car was parked and was just recently discovered virtually untouched after nearly 30 years of dry storage and with only 50,137 km.
Still sporting its original interior, the car has beautiful patina throughout and is ready for a new custodian who will enjoy it as much as its first owner has. It would be an excellent basis for a restoration or simply serviced and brought back to running and driving condition and returned to the open road as a wonderfully preserved early 912.
Dans le domaine des cadeaux de Noël, il est difficile de faire mieux qu'une Porsche toute neuve sous le sapin. Achetée aux Pays-Bas la veille de Noël, cette 912 a été donnée en 1965 en cadeau par une épouse à son mari. Elle a été d'abord immatriculée 94-47-AE et, pendant 20 ans, elle a fait l'objet d'une utilisation régulière correspondant à ce pourquoi elle était faite. Le deuxième propriétaire, M. Grooters, de Hengelo, a fait immatriculer la voiture à son nom le 30 septembre 1986. On peut noter que, lors d'une révision effectuée en mars 1987, elle affichait 46 597 km et qu'elle a bénéficié de la pose d'un revêtement de soubassement, dans le but de la protéger de la corrosion. Deux ans plus tard, elle était entreposée et n'a été que récemment redécouverte, pratiquement intouchée depuis presque 30 ans d'immobilisation au sec, et n'affichant que 50 137 km.
Dotée de son intérieur d'origine, cette voiture présente une très belle patine tant intérieure qu'extérieure, et elle est prête à passer entre les mains d'un nouveau propriétaire qui en profitera autant que son premier utilisateur. Elle constitue une excellente base pour une restauration, ou même pour une simple révision qui permette à nouveau d'utiliser cette Porsche 912 merveilleusement bien préservée dans son aspect d'origine.
