Après les 203 et 403, Peugeot fait appel pour la 404 à Pininfarina qui crée une carrosserie différente de celle de la berline avec le succès qu’on lui connait. Avec la 504, lancée en 1968, le constructeur de Sochaux confirme la règle et métamorphose une sage berline 4-portes en un élégant coupé digne des productions transalpines. Si la forme évolue au cours de sa carrière, elle conserve l'élégance du dessin initial.

Produite de 1969 à 1983, cette voiture est de plus en plus prisée par les collectionneurs en quête d’une voiture française élégante et confortable. En 1974 apparaissaient les versions haut de gamme à moteur V6, premières Peugeot à bénéficier de ce moteur 2,7 l développé conjointement avec Renault et Volvo. Alliant la puissance à la fiabilité sans délaisser l’élégance qui la caractérise depuis sa présentation en 1969, elle fut produite à moins de 1 000 exemplaires. L’exemplaire que nous présentons est une Peugeot 504 V6 Coupé mise en circulation le 05 mars 1976.

Il se présente aujourd’hui dans son jus | la carrosserie a été repeinte il y a plusieurs années, quelques traces de corrosion sont à noteret les trains roulants sont à revoir. Dans l’habitacle, on retrouve une sellerie marron. Cet intéressante voiture fut l’une des vedettes de la série policière lyonnaise Cherif, diffusée sur France 2 entre 2013 et 2019 . Le moteur tourne bien mais une révision générale de la mécanique serait à prévoir (carburation à revoir). Proposant quatre vraies places, ce beau coupé à l’estimation attractive devrait séduire les amateurs du modèle.
