Of simple construction with front-mounted motorcycle engine and two-speed chain transmission, the Morgan was light, fast and economical to run. V-twin engines from a wide variety of manufacturers were employed, though those from J A Prestwich predominated. Competition from small sports cars forced the adoption of a conventional three-speeds-and-reverse gearbox in 1931, the last two-speed model leaving the factory the following year. A more refined version ¬- the F4, with 8hp Ford Model Y four-cylinder power unit - appeared soon after.
In 1937 the F4 formed the basis of the first four-seater, four-wheeled (4/4) Morgan and the following year a special Coventry Climax-engined sports model competed at Le Mans, qualifying for the Biennial Cup. A special Standard 1,267cc overhead-valve four-cylinder engine was introduced for the 1939 season alongside a new 2+2 drophead coupé and would continue to power the 4/4 up to 1950.
Reintroduced with Ford 100E power in 1955 after a five-year hiatus, the 4/4 was regularly up-dated with more modern power units, adopting Ford's 1,599cc 'Kent' pushrod engine in 1967, initially in either 74bhp or 88bhp 'Competition' forms, the latter being standardised from 1970. The chassis, with its sliding-pillar independent front suspension and leaf-sprung live rear axle, remained much as before and the 4/4 continued in this vein until the arrival of Ford's CVH engine for 1982.
This left-hand drive Morgan 4/4 is finished in black with original red leather interior. Recently serviced by Garage Anton Brügger AG of Zihlschlacht, Switzerland where the clutch, ignition, fuel, and braking systems all received attention, it is described by the private vendor as in generally good condition. The car is offered with Swiss registration papers and Garage Brügger's invoice dated 10th July 2020.

- Récemment révisée De construction simple avec un moteur de moto monté à l'avant, et une transmission par chaîne à deux vitesses, la Morgan était légère, rapide et économique à conduire. Les moteurs à deux cylindres en V de divers constructeurs furent utilisés, bien que ceux de J. A. Prestwich aient eu la préférence. La concurrence de petites sportives poussa Morgan à adopter une boîte conventionnelle à trois rapports et marche arrière en 1931, les derniers modèles à deux vitesses quittant l'usine l'année suivante. Une version plus raffinée - la F4, avec le quatre cylindres 8 ch de Ford – apparut peu après.
En 1937, la F4 servit de base à la première Morgan à quatre places et quatre roues (4/4) et l'année suivante, un modèle sportif spécial à moteur Coventry Climax courut au Mans, se qualifiant pour la coupe biennale. Un moteur Standard spécial de 1 267 cm3 à soupapes en tête fit son apparition pour la saison 1939 aux côtés d'un cabriolet 2+2 et allait être utilisé sur la 4/4 jusqu'en 1950.
Reconduite avec un moteur Ford 100E en 1955 après une interruption de cinq années, la 4/4 fut régulièrement mise à jour avec des moteurs plus modernes, adoptant le Ford « Kent » culbuté de 1 599 cm3 en 1967, au début en 74 ch ou en version compétition de 88 ch, ce dernier étant monté en série à partir de 1970. Le châssis, avec sa suspension avant indépendante télescopique et son essieu arrière rigide à ressorts à lames, restait sensiblement inchangé et la 4/4 continua sur cette lancée jusqu'à l'arrivée du moteur Ford CVH en 1982.
Cette Morgan 4/4 à conduite à gauche est noire avec son intérieur original en cuir rouge. Récemment révisée par le Garage Anton Brügger AG de Zihlschlacht, en Suisse, où l'embrayage, l'allumage et le système d'alimentation ont tous reçu des soins, elle est décrite par le vendeur, un particulier, comme étant en bon état général. La voiture est vendue avec ses papiers d'immatriculation suisse et les factures du Garage Brügger en date du 10 juillet 2020.
