The 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 is powered by a 428ci Cobra Jet engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. It was originally ordered as a Ford Home Office Reserve vehicle. Its factory equipment includes 3.50 posi-traction, power steering and power front disc brakes, along with power ventilation, which was ordered on only 850 cars. The chassis and body received a comprehensive two-year restoration, completed with guidance from Bob Perkins of Wisconsin, and returned to factory-correct specifications with a laser-straight body. Exterior features include its original understated appearance without 428 Cobra Jet markings, retaining the intended sleeper configuration.
