The XR-7 was the luxury package for the Cougar, which included wood grain dashboard veneers, Hi-back vinyl bucket seats, concealed dual headlamps, visual check panel, tachometer and elapsed time clock, Flo-thru ventilation system, overhead console, and black-faced gauges. This particular XR-7 has just 38,597 original documented miles. Included in the documentation are the factory window sticker, owner warranty cards, protect-o-plate, previous owner registrations, and bills of sale. Other than a high quality, professional re-spray in its original color, the rest of the vehicle remains original including the deluxe leather interior and optional vinyl top which are in beautiful condition.

Listed on the window sticker as extra cost options are a vinyl top, select-shift transmission, sports console, power steering, power front disc brakes, whisper-aire conditioner, AM radio, and tinted glass. 1970 was the first year for the 300 hp 351 cubic-inch V8, which in this car, is paired with an automatic transmission. This is the perfect first series Cougar for someone who wants a highly original car to drive and enjoy.
