1988 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL Roadster. 40,578 original miles As per owner. Two tops, all service up to date including A/C which blows cold. I've driven the car nearly 500 miles in the last two weeks and really enjoy it. Two owner car from new. The first owner lived in NY and bought the car the car new. She was afraid to drive it and put only 9000 miles on it between 1988 and 2001. The second owner was an acquaintance of hers and bought the car. He put just under 31,000 miles on it between 2001 and 2021. All service is up to date and the car was last serviced in mid August, 2021. This included a repair to an air conditioner fitting, recharge of the A/C, oil & filter change and cleaning.
It is painted in its correct Smoke Silver (DB 702) paint with Cream Beige leather interior. It has a Sony aftermarket radio that was carefully installed and retains the original radio which is fully functional. There was no modification made to the radio cutout so the old radio will slide right back in. The leather is very nice, carpets appear new and has a brand new set of correct floor mats as well. The dash has no cracks, the instruments are clean and fully functional and the wood is also excellent. This 560 SL was stored indoors for all of its life and not subject to sun damage. The original canvas top is nice. The window area is clean but a bit hard.
I am very careful when I lower the trop. The original hard top is excellent and fits well. This Mercedes has no rust or rust repair anywhere. The undercarriage is in mint condition and the fenders and sheet metal is also excellent original. All of the glass is original and good as well. Underneath, there is no evidence of the repair at all due to the minor nature of it. This 560 starts and drives phenomenally well. It tracks straight and handles exactly as intended by the factory. The brakes are good with full maintenance up to date. The tires are new Pirelli's and the wheels are correct factory wheels that have been chromed. I have the original owners manual with supplements and tags.
I have the correct original top wrench and a car cover for the car.
