The Range Rover, a large luxury four-wheel drive sport utility vehicle launched in 1970 is now in its fourth generation. In 1967, the first Range Rover prototype was built with the classic Range Rover shape clearly discernible although with a different front grill and headlight configuration. The design of the Range Rover was eventually finalised and signed off in 1969. After 25 years from the introduction of the first-generation Range Rover, the second-generation Range Rover model, designation P38A, was introduced for the 1995 model year with an updated version of the Rover V8 engines. The new model offered more equipment and premium trims positioning the vehicle above the Land Rover Discovery to face ever increasing competition in the SUV marketplace.
This very well cared for P38 2001 model with the 4.0 litre V8 engine and presented in Epson Green with light stone leather trim with black piping and wood capping. Our vendor took ownership in 2018 from the second owner after purchasing from the previous owner who had stored the car in his garage for nearly a decade in a garage in Henley on Thames, he then spent circa £2000 re-commissioning the car for his own use.
Accompanying the car is a comprehensive service history mainly with Lancaster Land-Rover Reading which indicate the mileage is genuine with the last recorded service at 65,921 miles in 2007 before our vendor comprehensively serviced the car again at 71,111 in 2018. The MoT certificate is valid until September 2020 and works have included a new air suspension compressor, sensors and recent invoices include listing parts and labour to bring the car to good order. The vendor informs us the interior is in good order as is the bodywork, the headlining is firm and original carpets in the cabin and rear all in good condition.
