The XKR is a supercharged variant of Jaguar's XK8, launched in 1996 to replace the XJ-S. Two body styles were produced, a coupé and a convertible and the car was the first in the Jaguar line-up to use Jaguar's newly developed V8 engine. In 2000, the supercharged XKR was added to the range. This produced a staggering 503 horsepower, a subtle rear spoiler, wire mesh front grille and red exterior emblems were identifying features. The XKR's engine was made in England, the ignition system was from NGK in Japan, the transmission was a Mercedes-Benz 722.6, the lighting system was by Valeo in France and the supercharger was made by Eaton in the USA, it was truly a world car.
The redesigned XK was styled by Jaguar's chief designer Ian Callum. The standard XK model has a limited top speed of 158mph whilst the XKR had a limited top speed of 174mph.
First registered 30th September 2008 and presented in Silver metallic with black leather trim and walnut wood inserts, this subtle rocket ship of a sports car boasting over 500 bhp is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.Originally supplied to Hatfields Jaguar the service booklet shows 13 service stamps from main dealer and specislists (see photos) and at its last servicve March 2024 the car was treated to new front and rear brake pads and discs and new antirollbar links, n/s/f track rod end, rear wishbones and o/s/r top suspension arm. Coupled to an automatic gearbox and offered with an MoT test certificate until September 2026 achieved without advisories this is a wonderful 4 seat coupe with real supercar feel.
