This 2018 GMC Yukon Denali Lingenfelter features a 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine with a towering 700 HP and a stump-pulling 665 lb-ft of torque. The small-block V-8 engine is mated to an automatic transmission, and that prodigious power is then fed through all four wheels. Obviously, with 700 ponies on hand, this is not your average Yukon Denali. The performance enhancements come courtesy of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering of Decatur, Indiana, a company that has been in the business of engine building plus engine and chassis tuning for General Motors vehicles for nearly five full decades.
The company was founded by NHRA driver John Lingenfelter, who built a strong reputation for taking GM performance to new heights. In 2008, five years after John’s untimely death, the company was purchased by John’s distant cousin Ken Lingenfelter, who is currently at the helm of the operation. Over the years, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has become synonymous with aftermarket performance for GM, including models such as the Chevrolet Corvette, Camaro, Silverado, Tahoe, SSR, Impala SS, Caprice, Cadillac CTS-V, Fleetwood, Escalade, Pontiac Firebird, GTO, Buick Roadmaster, Hummer H2, GMC Sierra and Yukon Denali.
Lingenfelter hasn’t often strayed from its GM roots, but it did also create performance packages for the Dodge Viper and Plymouth Prowler. This 16,000-mile, one-owner Yukon Denali is endowed with an extensive factory option list and has a host of important goodies from Lingenfelter. A Magnuson TVS2300 supercharger, Lingenfelter CNC-ported heads, Lingenfelter camshaft, American Racing long-tube headers and Corsa Sport 3-inch stainless exhaust system combine with a GM Performance lowering kit and big brake kit to give this menacing SUV the type of extreme performance that its creators at GM never intended.
That’s the Lingenfelter way, and the company’s dedication to performance has produced some incredible vehicles, including this black beast.
