Roush Serial No. 10-021, this 2010 Ford Mustang 540RH convertible from the superb Roush Automotive Collection represents somewhat of a departure from Roush’s general practice of unmistakable branding, as shown by its relatively low-key presentation.
Indeed, Jack Roush himself explained, “[it] is really intended to be a ‘sleeper’ car … purposely built with minimal content as it was designed for the buyer who wanted the Roush horsepower but with a blank canvas that can be customized into their own personal one-of-a-kind ride.” Also known as the RoushHammer, this specialized, limited-production Roush Mustang may not present as boldly as other Roush models, but there is no denying its astonishing power and handling. At 540 HP, its supercharged 4.6L V-8’s output matches that of the contemporary GT500, enabling an 11.8-second ET at 121 MPH.
The 540RH also rules track days thanks to a unique handling package that includes special springs, shocks and stabilizer bars, 4-wheel slotted and vented disc brakes with Roush calipers, and 275/40ZR18 Cooper Zeon RS3 tires on 18-inch Roush Performance wheels.
