This beautiful 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 is a rotisserie-restored and documented showpiece finished to MCA Concours standards. Sold new at Bill Ellis Ford in Rialto, California, it was built with the full complement of Boss 302 features: the famed 302/290 HP V-8 (complete with California-mandated Fuel Evap emission control system), Borg Warner T-10 Toploader 4-speed, Traction-Lok differential, competition suspension, quick ratio steering and power front disc brakes. In addition to its rare Bright Yellow paint and Black Boss graphics, it incorporated front and rear spoilers, tinted glass and rear-window Sport Slats, color-keyed racing mirrors and chromed Magnum 500 wheels.
Designed for the all-business driver, the Black interior features high-back bucket seats, factory Hurst shifter and an AM radio. The car remained with the same owner until 1989, and as a long-term California car it remained solid and free of rust, qualities that benefited the restoration completed in the mid-2000s. The quality of finish is still evident today in such details as the matching-numbers drivetrain, Red Oxide primer undercarriage finish and NOS Magnum wheels and Goodyear Polyglas tires.
It was purchased by a collector in 2007 and remained in climate-controlled storage until its recent sale in 2014, and is offered with two factory build sheets, two very rare assembly line inspection sheets, the original window sticker, a Deluxe Marti Report, California registrations and photographic documentation of the restoration.
