As the millennium dawned, NASCAR’s truck races remained very popular. A young man named Kurt Busch drove this example, Roush Racing Chassis No. B061/CT12, en route to Rookie of the Year honors for 2000 in the Craftsman Truck Series. This F-150 still wears its white, blue and black No. 99 Exide livery with hand-airbrushed lightning details adorning the body. Underhood is a naturally aspirated Roush Racing 358 CI Ford V-8 engine with deep-style open-element air cleaner and Roush-designed hard parts, backed by a 4-speed manual transmission.
Inside is the ButlerBuilt Professional Seat Systems racing seat and Simpson racing harness, AutoMeter Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite gauges and Memory tachometer, F-150-fitted roll cage, custom shift knob, and a special “Ford Racing 100 Years” commemorative decal. The car features 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes with slotted rotors behind 15-inch black race wheels and Goodyear Eagle radial race tires. Rookie honors do not come easy, and this truck is a rolling tribute.
