La 456 s'inscrit dans la tradition des Ferrari 2+2 dotées d'un V12 à l'avant, entamée avec la 250 GTE et qui s'est poursuivie avec les 330, 365, 400 puis 412 GT dont la production s'est arrêtée en 1989. C'est donc un modèle très attendu qui est dévoilé au Salon de Paris 1992, avec une ligne Pininfarina résolument moderne et un moteur à la hauteur de ce ramage: d'une cylindrée de 5 472 cm3, il développe 442 ch, ce qui est particulièrement élevé à l'époque, et l'est encore aujourd'hui, permettant à la version manuelle de dépasser 300 km/h. La Ferrari présentée est l'un des 514 exemplaires en 456M GTA en conduite à gauche et fut livrée neuve en août 2000.
Elle est dans la désirable teinte Blu Pozzi qui s'accorde élégamment avec l'intérieur en cuir beige. Notre collectionneur s'en porte acquéreur fin 2016 auprès de Old Barn Motors, la décrivant comme " véhicule de 3e main, garanti non accidenté ", elle avait alors 65 170 km. La 456 bénéficie alors d'un polissage intégral et le bouclier avant d'une nouvelle peinture. En novembre 2021, un important entretien de près de 10 000 € est réalisé par le concessionnaire Ferrari Francorchamps Motors Luxembourg, comprenant le remplacement des courroies de distribution.
Depuis cette dernière révision, elle n'a parcouru que 2 470 km et affiche aujourd'hui hui au compteur 67 640 km et dispose encore de sa trousse à outils d'origine. La 456 est l'automobile idéale pour devenir le nouveau membre d'une jeune famille avec deux enfants, aimant les voyages au longs courts, sur la musique envoûtante du V12 et l'élégance d'une GT signée Pininfarina. It was therefore a highly anticipated model which was unveiled at the 1992 Paris Motor Show, with a much more modern Pininfarina design, and an engine worthy of this range: with a displacement of 5472cc, the engine developed 442bhp, which was particularly high then, and still is today, which allowed the manual version to exceed 300 km/h. The Ferrari on offer is one of only 514 left-hand drive 456M GTAs and was delivered new in August 2000. It is finished in the desirable Blu Pozzi color which matches the beige leather interior very elegantly.
Our collector bought it at the end of 2016 from Old Barn Motors, describing it as a "guaranteed accident-free third-owner vehicle", it then had 65,170 km on the odometer. The 456 then benefited from a thorough polishing and the front bumper received new paint. In November 2021, a major maintenance of nearly €10,000 was carried out by the Ferrari dealer Francorchamps Motors Luxembourg, including the replacement of the timing belts. Since this last service, it has covered only 2,470 km and today displays 67,640 km on the odometer and still has its original tool kit.
The 456 is the ideal car for a young family with two children, a family that loves long drives, listening to the bewitching music of the V12 and the elegance of a GT designed by Pininfarina. ADDENDUM PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LEVER TO OPEN THE ENGINE BONNET IS BROKEN BUT THE COVER OPENS.
