320 bhp, 4,390 cc SOHC V-12 engine, three Weber two-barrel downdraft carburetors, five-speed manual rear transaxle, four-wheel independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. Wheelbase: 94.5 in.

Unveiled at the Geneva Salon in March 1966, the Ferrari 330 GTC (Gran Turismo Coupe) was designed to complement Ferrari’s sporting berlinetta, the 275 GTB, in much the same way that the 250 GT Pininfarina Coupe had complemented the 250 GT Tour de France. Combining many design elements from the most beautiful Ferrari automobiles, the 330 GTC offered the latest development of Colombo’s legendary V-12 engine with a chassis closely patterned after the 275 GTB. Legendary racing drivers Phil Hill and Paul Frère both proclaimed the model to be the best Ferrari built to date, and one of the finest GT cars ever made.

In 1968, the 330 GTC received a batch of modest upgrades, including an increase in engine displacement, good for an additional 20 horsepower, resulting in the 365 GTC. This new model was instantly identifiable by the relocation of its front fender vents to the hood. The improved engine featured greater power at a lower range of the rpm band, with strong torque developing as low as 2,500 rpm.

In addition to offering better mechanical performance than its predecessor, the 365 GTC was built in far smaller quantities, with only 168 examples produced between 1968 and 1970. As with all limited-production Ferraris, the small number built has made the 365 GTC valued as much for its power as it is for its dashing good looks.

The stunning example offered here was first delivered by Rome’s original Ferrari dealer, Motor S.a.s. di Carla Allegretti e C., to a local resident by the name of Nervi. It was purchased in the early 1970s by a Canadian doctor, who was employed at the Canadian Embassy in Rome, and he drove the car there for many years, enjoying the unique experience of enjoying a 365 GTC on its home territory. In the late 1970s, the Ferrari returned with him to the land of maple leaves, and it remained in his ownership until his passing a decade ago, when it was acquired by a noted Canadian Ferrari dealer and enthusiast.

As one would expect from an excellent, original long-term car, restored under the care of such a knowledgeable owner, the restoration of this 365 GTC is beyond compare. The excellent, original body was stripped to bare metal and has received a sparkling, high-quality finish in the original Bleu Scuro. The exterior chrome was completely replated to high standards, and the fit and finish is overall outstanding, with the car presenting as nothing less than jewelry, accented by the de rigeur Borrani chrome wire wheels. Factory air conditioning is a desirable accessory, and it greatly improves the car’s comfort for summer day driving and shows.

Similarly, the interior was correctly reupholstered in tan leather and appears “as-new,” with tight fills, crisp edges, and clean lines, as well as new carpets and an outstanding level of detail to be found throughout.

As one would expect of such an outstanding example, the 365 GTC has been fully certified by the Ferrari factory’s vaunted Classiche program as having its original body, chassis, engine, and other components. It comes complete with its “Red Book,” which recognizes its original body, chassis, engine, and other components and verifies the authenticity of all parts of the car, and the car also comes with photographs of all numbered components and a file of additional information and documentation accumulated by the previous owner. The car has been recently driven by an RM specialist, who reports that it performs as new.

The 365 GTC has been borne by its high performance and style to become a modern legend among Ferraris, and this particularly fresh, detailed, and simply excellent restoration, in rarely seen but stunning colors, would be an ideal example to show at the highest-caliber judged events, including the famed Cavallino Classic. It is set apart by outstanding condition, low ownership since new, and Classiche certification, which highlight it as being one of the very best of the very best.

Please note that an import duty of 2.5% of the purchase price is payable on this car if the buyer is a resident of the United States.
