Dodge discontinued the Viper in 2017 after approximately 32,000 examples rolled out over 26 years of production. Fewer than 1,000 came out that final year. As the last model, it encompassed the best of the car’s evolutionary development, starting under hood with the 8.4L aluminum V-10 engine rated at 645 HP. That powerplant pushed the car from zero to 60 MPH in 3.3 seconds and on to a 206 MPH top speed. This is backed by the 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential, while the performance-oriented, adjustable suspension features Bilstein dampers and Brembo anti-lock brakes with black calipers.
Further highlights are the body-blending dual side exhaust, the X-braced engine bay, and SRT developments like the electronic launch control system. This Viper displays excellent care and fewer than 15,000 miles on the odometer. The paint is Venom Black, outlining the final year’s stylish aero-focused body design with the SRT hood with center scoop and air-extraction vents, front spoiler and double-bubble roof line. The gas filler and Viper insignia are the only chrome touches. HID headlights and LED tail lights are employed as standard equipment on this final release. Inside are black materials and silver stitching on the leather-and-cloth performance bucket seats.
Facing the driver are a 7-inch digital cluster display, 8.4-inch Uconnect screen, a Harman Kardon 12-speaker, high-performance audio system with 900-watt amplifier, automatic climate control, power-adjustable pedals and a tilt steering column holding an SRT steering wheel. The modern age wasn’t done yet with keyless entry, cruise control, SRT Performance Pages and the Parkview rear back-up camera. Recently serviced and sporting new tires, the car features Sidewinder II Matte Black wheels, 18×10.5-inch front and 19×13-inch rear, and a lot of attitude. Now, almost 10 years gone, Dodge truly saved the best for last, and this Viper remains potent to this day.
