The mix of special cars created during the Last Call series by Dodge in 2023 hosted a number of cool possibilities, and the King Daytona was part of that. This unique release was done in remembrance of a previous 426 Hemi Daytona from 1969 that had been presented to William “Big Willie” Robinson of the Street Racers of L.A. crime prevention program. This release honors the man and that car, which he nicknamed “King Daytona.” The car offered here has been driven 83 miles since new and looks as factory delivered, with unpunched license plate holes and factory protective plastic still affixed inside.
It is one of just 300 Last Call King Daytonas produced, which was based on the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody. Horsepower was befitting the King as well, with a 6.2L/807 HP supercharged Hemi V-8 engine featuring all the good stuff that SRT engineers designed for every Hellcat. The area underhood is filled up by the bare-metal blower, callout-design engine covers, a rubber-sealed hood to air cleaner box and Last Call serial tag. Rated at 10 HP more than standard Hellcat Chargers, this is coupled with the performance automatic transmission, anti-spin differential, and the Hellcat programmable suspension options and Drive Modes.
Equipped with a special 220 MPH speedometer and 2.62 final gear, orange-tone Brembo brakes slow it down. One part for this limited release is the wild Go Mango exterior with special Satin Black “King Daytona” rear fender graphics, the Satin Black hood and roof graphics, and Satin chrome exterior badging. The interior is deluxe as well, with black Nappa leather and Alcantara Daytona materials featuring orange stitching on select pieces, Daytona seat embroidery, a special King Daytona instrument panel badge, console with T-handle shifter, power sunroof, Harmon-Kardon deluxe audio with Surround Sound, and a carbon fiber-style dash facing.
Outside, one sees the bright Mopar hood pins, hood scoop and 20×11 Wrap Speed Station Carbon alloy wheels. Big Willie kept the street scene racing cool back in the day. This special King Daytona will do “cool” for you.
