“Travelling the Chevrolet way in the Jet-smoother Impala is more relaxing than ever,” so stated Chevrolet as they introduced the slightly revised 1966 model. Continuing to bask in the glow of the early-1960s “glory days” when Chevrolet’s full-size Impala and lightweight Biscayne reigned supreme on the street and strip, full-size Chevrolets received all-new bodywork for 1965. Deceptively large with crisp, taut lines, the full-size Chevrolets received a minor facelift for 1966. Unmistakably 1966 were newly styled fenders, grille, bumpers and smart-looking wraparound taillights. Every Impala had front and rear wheel opening moldings, black-accented side and rear moldings, slender sill and hood windsplit moldings and bright drip moldings.

Just less than 655,000 Impalas were built and sold for the 1966 model year. There is no doubt that the great looks, myriad of options, strong drive trains and comfy ride all attributed to Chevrolet’s amazing success.
