This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible has undergone a custom restoration with a combination of old and new. Originally it was one of 17,762 convertibles built during the 1966 production year. According to the Trim Tag, this car was built in March at the St. Louis, MO, plant, and it was originally finished in Nassau Blue over a black vinyl interior. It is now powered by a new BluePrint GM 383ci V8 engine. This small block produces the power of a big block with less weight at 420hp with 450 ft/lbs of torque. Some of the engine features include a cast-steel crank, hypereutectic pistons, roller cam and aluminum heads.
It's dressed with a chrome air cleaner and Chevrolet Orange valve covers. The engine breathes through Hedman headers and a custom Flowmaster exhaust system with X-pipe and is coupled to 5-speed TREMEC manual transmission. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed with many upgrades. The front suspension has Corvette Grand Touring 1-inch lowering springs, Edelbrock shocks and a heavy-duty sway bar. The rear suspension has a one-piece composite rear spring with Edelbrock shocks. Stopping is provided by a Wilwood master cylinder and 4-wheel disc brakes. It rides on 15-inch factory alloy wheels with spinners wrapped in whitewall tires.
The interior is trimmed in black and features a polished Ididit tilt steering column with Budnik 15.5-inch steering wheel, kick-panel speakers as well as carpeted floor mats. The original black hardtop is included.
