By 1961-62, Chevrolet’s audacious, first-generation Corvette had truly come of age. While retaining the basic body design of 1956-57, which was updated for 1958, styling was now tastefully simplified with reduced chrome and ornamentation, a simplified grille, and a smart new rear treatment that foreshadowed the upcoming 1963 Corvette Sting Ray. In total, the 1962 Corvette remains one of the most aesthetically pleasing first-generation designs today, making it an ideal base for a modern, custom treatment.
Blending unmistakably classic styling and attitude with modern mechanical components and technologies, high build quality, and, of course, awesome performance, this custom build is nicknamed “Ruby” in recognition of its visually stunning 2000 Chrysler Candy Apple Red Metallic paint finish. A very rare hardtop-only, soft-top delete car, this 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is powered by a blueprinted 427/540 HP stroker V-8 engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. In addition to updated suspension components, Ruby features rack-and-pinion steering, disc brakes, headers with exhaust cut-outs and a battery-tender setup.
Other choice updates and upgrades include air conditioning, power windows, new door window glass, an AM/FM head unit and trunk-mounted Custom Autosound CD changer. Re-chromed bumpers and polished American Racing wheels complete this custom Corvette from the last model year of first-generation production. A build binder is included, containing receipts from 2017-2025.
