When Cadillac introduced the CT6, or Cadillac Touring 6, in 2016, it was a unique twist in the lineup, considering it was the first full-size rear-wheel drive Cadillac sedan since the division retired the Fleetwood in 1996. Engineered with a unique chassis, the CT6 was designed from the onset to be a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive sedan hosting various engines. One of the engines was called the Blackwing, a 4.2L/550 HP DOHC twin-turbocharged V-8 developed for the high-performance CT6-V.
It was hand-built and signed by the builder at the Bowling Green, Kentucky, assembly plant where Chevrolet builds Corvette engines, Cadillac invested an exorbitant amount of time and money into developing not only the Blackwing, but the entire CT6-V concept. With a 0-60 MPH sprint taking just over 3 seconds, a quarter-mile dash just north of 12 seconds and a lengthy list of standard amenities, the CT6-V offered customers an alternative to the usual luxury performance sedans. Available for sale only in 2019 and 2020, just around 1,500 CT6-Vs were built in total.
Sadly, CT6 and CT6-V sold slowly and by the end of 2020, Cadillac discontinued the CT6 except for one more year of export to China, which bought nearly 18,000 in 2021, none of which were CT6-Vs. This 2019 CT6-V shows just more than 15,000 miles on the odometer and is finished in Raven Black with a matching interior. Fitted with the Ultraview sunroof, this CT6-V also features a head-up display, a 12-inch color gauge cluster, a 10-inch center display, heated and ventilated front bucket seats with 16-way power adjustability, four-zone climate control with an ionizer, and a 34-speaker Bose Panaray sound system with navigation, SiriusXM, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
An absolute technical knockout, Cadillac packed the CT6-V with an ocean of standard features and amenities, including wireless charging, auto parking assist, a vehicle immobilizer, an HD rear/surround vision camera with recordability, alerts for lane change, blind spots, rear cross traffic and frontal collision, night vision, adaptive cruise control, rear seat infotainment and much more. Outside, the noir Cadillac is highlighted by tinted windows, a factory monochromatic paint scheme, a carbon fiber spoiler, a ground effects package and 20-inch Midnight Silver V-series split five-spoke alloy wheels.
