The Super Sport’s story begins in September 2019, when Bugatti made history as the first manufacturer to officially surpass the 300 mph mark. At Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessien test track, a near-production prototype of the Chiron Super Sport 300+, piloted by 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Andy Wallace, reached an astounding 304.773 mph (490.5 km/h). It was a seismic achievement, not only for Bugatti but for the entire automotive world. In the wake of that record, a limited run of Super Sport 300+ models was produced, followed by the broader release of the Chiron Super Sport.
Measuring 25 centimetres longer than the standard Chiron, the Super Sport’s design is governed not by flamboyance, but by aerodynamic necessity. Every curve, vent, and line serve a purpose, sculpted to conquer the air rather than simply catch the eye. From the bespoke “Air Curtains” seamlessly integrated into the front fascia to the rear wheel arch vents designed to reduce turbulence, each detail reflects meticulous engineering. Even the subtly lengthened “Longtail” rear is less about showmanship and more about refining airflow, enabling the car to perform flawlessly at speeds exceeding 400 km/h.
Beneath its sculpted surface lies Bugatti’s famed 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine, a mechanical masterpiece of 16 cylinders and four turbos delivering an extraordinary 1,578 horsepower with remarkable finesse. Throttle response is instant and fluid, delivering staggering performance: The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h lasts under 2.4 seconds on the way to an electronically limited top speed of 440 km/h, figures that push the boundaries of roadgoing capability and warp passengers' perception of time and space.
Inside, the Chiron Super Sport rejects the excesses of modern supercar design in favour of focused, purposeful elegance. Bugatti resisted the temptation to flood the cabin with digital distractions; instead, it offers an analogue sanctuary, cocooning occupants in a space more reminiscent of fine horology than high tech. Carbon fibre, leather, and brushed aluminium are employed throughout with each material chosen for its purpose, not its flash.
Limited to just 80 examples, taken from the Chiron’s total production run of 500 units, each Chiron Super Sport is crafted by hand in Bugatti’s storied Molsheim atelier. It embodies the pinnacle of craftsmanship and engineering, standing as a bold statement from a marque that has nothing left to prove.
Ordered new by the consignor via Bugatti's representatives in Appenzell, Switzerland, the Chiron Super Sport on offer, chassis number 795057, is finished in the spectacular combination of Blue Carbon and Grey Carbon over Atlantic Blue diamond cut five-spoke alloy wheels. This magnificent specification is strikingly contrasted by a cabin awash in Deep Blue full-leather hides, complemented by Beluga Black carpets and accented with Gris Rafale stitching and embroidery.
Delivered new to The Tailored For Speed Collection in Switzerland, the Bugatti has been retained by its sole owner. Enjoyed sparingly throughout, the car displays just 516 kilometres at the time of cataloguing and is accompanied by an owner’s manual, order documents, and engraved road case. It was serviced by a Bugatti-authorised dealership in Zurich on 7 March 2025, then showing 480 kilometres on its odometer.
