The M6 nameplate was revived by BMW two years after the Munich marque reintroduced the 6 Series in 2003. Picking up from the earlier M635 CSi (badged as the M6 in North America and Japan) that was phased out in 1989, the E63-generation M6 coupé began production in 2005 with attractive grand tourer styling seamlessly blended with impressive performance figures. Offering some 500 PS from its 5.0-litre V-10 “S85” engine, most examples of the M6 were built with the seven-speed automated manual transmission.
The example offered here was acquired by The Munich Masterpieces Collection in July 2006 through Inchcape Motors of Finland, just over one year after it was delivered new to its first owner via Käyttöauto of Vaasa. As is documented by the accompanying BMW folio—containing owner’s manuals and a stamped service book—the M6 has been carefully maintained with BMW dealer servicing. Its last entry is a service in October 2021, when the odometer read 132,101 kilometres. At the time of cataloguing, the odometer read 132,804 kilometres.
Presented in Sepang Bronze Metallic over a tan leather interior, this V-10 BMW is a mainstay of modern M performance worthy of being picked as a comfortable and stylish choice for cross-continental road trips and more.
Zwei Jahre nach Wiedereinführung der 6er-Reihe im Jahr 2003 kam auch der Modellname M6 wieder zum Tragen. Ausgehend vom 1989 eingestellten M635 CSi (der in den USA und Japan M6 heißen durfte), begann die Fertigung des neuen M6 der Generation E63 2005. Der attraktive GT mit beeindruckenden Fahrleistungen verfügte über den S85 Fünfliter-V10 mit 500 PS Leistung und wurde mehrheitlich mit dem automatisierten Siebengang-Getriebe bestellt.
Nur ein Jahr nach der Auslieferung an den Erstbesitzer durch Käyttöauto im finnischen Vaasa wurde das hier angebotene Exemplar im Juli 2006 von der Munich Masterpieces Collection bei Inchcape Motors, Finnland, erworben und der Sammlung hinzugefügt. Wie den beim Fahrzeug befindlichen Bordbüchern zu entnehmen ist, wurde dieser M6 gewissenhaft von BMW Händlern gepflegt; der letzte Eintrag im Oktober 2021 wurde bei einem Kilometerstand von 132.101 durchgeführt. Heute zeigt der Tacho zum Zeitpunkt der Drucklegung 132.804 km an.
Dieser in Sepang Bronze Metallic mit beigem Leder ausgeführte M6 mit seinem V10 Motor ist ein Meilenstein der BMW M Performance und hat seinen Platz als sicherer und komfortabler GT für lange Roadtrips verdient.
