M3 derivatives are developed by BMW’s in-house motorsport division, where BMW have continued to build impressive racing credentials. The M3 saloon was upgraded from 2,990cc (282bhp) in November 1995 to 3,201cc delivering 317bhp, plus a new six-speed manual gearbox along with other more minor upgrades. The model continued through to December 1997 with a total of 694 UK righthand drive cars produced in total. Popular amongst circuit competition drivers, the E36 is widely considered as one of the best handling cars of the 1990's.

Specified in the seductive combination of Boston Green Metallic with Modena ‘Natur’ Nappa leather and walnut cappings, this magnificent M3 was registered at Beechwood BMW Warrington on 28th March, 1996. Benefiting from the higher output engine and six-speed manual gearbox, this car presents in magnificent order throughout and stands up well to the closest scrutiny. Testament mainly to gentle ownership by one senior owner for over 18 years. The history file is comprehensive with the service book boasting 15 service stamps (all BMW main dealer or dedicated BMW Specialists) with just 2,500 miles since the last service.

The car is unmodified and remains entirely as per factory specification; it idles smoothly and drives tightly reflecting accurately the diligent maintenance and cherished ownership that has preserved this splendid example so well across so many years.
