AC Schnitzer, a tuning company based in Aachen, Germany was founded in 1987 by Willi Kohl and Herbert Schnitzer. Its range includes tuning for BMW vehicles and the Mini and Land Rover makes, and also has a motorcycle arm. The firm has roots with Schnitzer Motorsport but is an independent company both commercially and legally and part of the Kohl Group. Historics are pleased to offer the very first AC Schnitzer ACL2S Car - number one of only 30 made - to celebrate AC Schnitzer's 30th anniversary.

Based on a left hand drive BMW M240i xDrive and built at AC Schnitzer Germany, this car has numerous special features and was an award winner at the Essen Motor Show; it was also the launch car at the Geneva International Motor Show of the same year on the AC Schnitzer stand, winning another award. Used by AC Schnitzer as their press/show car and demonstrator, it was built as a custom car to win just such awards that it successfully did in 2017. The car still boasts its German AC Schnitzer number plates which were purchased with the car and the AC Schnitzer green show plates are also included.

This vehicle was purchased direct from the stand of AC Schnitzer at the Essen Motor show, with an original build cost circa £120,000 euros by our vendor, the only registered keeper, and proprietor of a small and significant collection of motorcars. The ACL2S specification includes M240i xDrive with upgraded intercooler and a performance upgrade to 400hp.

Boasting engine optic, quad sports exhaust system with black ceramic tailpipes, RS suspension individually adjustable for ride height, compression damping and rebound damping, 19" type VIII forged alloy wheels, 8.5J front and 9.5J rear in special bicolour finish with Michelin tyres, 10 piece ACL2S wide bodykit, carbon fibre front spoiler elements, lower front splitter, carbon fibre canard set and mirror covers with side skirts with carbon fibre winglets, carbon fibre racing wing with gurney strip, carbon fibre rear canards and rear diffuser and roof spoiler.

The interior features painted panels, five pieces of which are part of the custom show car and not standard finish with ACL2S badge in stainless steel with laser-etched logo, AC Schnitzer steering wheel, alloy pedal set and footrest, luxury velour floor mats with AC Schnitzer embroidered logo, AC Schnitzer handbrake handle, AC Schnitzer iDrive cover, Recaro Sportster CS front seats with added seat heating at an extra cost and interior retrimmed in Racing Green and black leather with ACL2S branding.

Repainted in matt Metallic Racing Green and serviced by BMW Barons less Than 1,000 miles ago the car is traffic - and heart - stopping and reportedly performs like a ballistic missile, making an M car look and feel entry level. That the ACL2S is an exceptional vehicle was also confirmed by the readers of ‘Auto Bild Sportscars’ being awarded the title ‘Sportscar of the Year 2017’ in the small and compact car class. Looking great, this car is UK registered and was serviced by BMW barons less than 1000 miles ago and has been used sparingly since.
